Google Shopping Campaigns Go Global
In 2013, Google announced their forthcoming Shopping Campaign rollout – an enhancement to help retailers more easily manage their PLA bids. The update allows users to access their inventory directly in AdWords and also streamlines the program’s bid reporting system. Retailers can take advantage of Shopping Campaigns by running them in tandem with traditional PLA’s to optimize their brand’s paid search presence.
LinkedIn Enhances Content Offering
LinkedIn launches an extended publishing platform stemming from its influencer program. Now, all LinkedIn users have the ability to publish expanded content to engage their followers and connections. Additionally, other users will have the option to follow individuals based on their long-form posts.
Slicklogin’s Sound-Based Platform May Be the Future of Website Security
Slicklogin, a startup aimed at creating more secure website environments through sound, was acquired by Google. The Slicklogin platform is essentially a dialog between an enabled website and a user’s smartphone; the site emits a unique sound and the smartphone send the near silent sound back to verify the user.
Google Expands Video, Display Presence with Magna Global Partnership
In a new partnership, ad buyer, Magna Global, has ensured that $100 million of its clients’ marketing budgets will be poured into YouTube, Google Display Network and Google’s mobile platform. In exchange, the ad buyer will have access to Google’s ad inventory and data. The year-long deal signifies Google’s increased focus on display and video advertising.
