Changes on Google’s SERP
Today you may notice some changes on Google’s SERP. These updates reflect Google’s commitment to continually test changes that may enhance the look and feel of search results.
Product Listing Ads may now appear at the top of the results page. Additionally, you will also see some yellow-highlighted ad labels that further distinguish between paid and natural results. Below are a few bullet points that highlight the changes:
- PLA’s on relevant queries on desktop will be moving from below positions 1-3 to above.
- PLA’s on top has already launched for mobile + tablet, so the desktop launch is the last of the roll out for these changes
- Based on experiments, this should increase CTR for both PLA’s and text ads
Advertisers should expect an increase in traffic within 10% of current levels.
